Multi-cultural Interpersonal Communication is a study of the theories and principles of communication between and among person of different cultures. The focus is on the uniqueness of the verbal and non-verbal communication patterns in each culture, as well as the commonalities among varied societies. This course prepares the students to communicate effectively in a global community.

Course Objectives:

At the end of the semester, the students shall be able to

a.    Explain the V-M of M-C vis-à-vis the course

b.    Define interpersonal communication in the context of a multicultural setting

c.    Manifest cultural sensitivity and appreciate the multiculturality of Philippine society

d.    Explain specific multicultural phenomenon and/issues through the integration of related theory and their personal experience

b.    Promote justice through understanding, balanced information and perception

c.    Promote peace by fighting against cultural discrimination and advocating human dignity
